On losing your keys (May 4th 2014)

I get annoyed when people studying business or science or law or politics etc. say we (creative writing students) have it easy, because we don’t have exams and we only have to “be creative and write stories and stuff”. I’d really like to see them trying to be creative and have a portfolio of their work graded. Then they’ll see that it’s more than just a grade for us. What we’ve written is something we’ve CREATED rather than just memorizing and reproducing answers from a textbook.
