“If in order to comprehend one’s value one must suffer the absence that is a result of their negligence, then one does not deserve to be a friend. It’s worth a shot, giving them another chance but I’ve come to realize that you just simply cannot teach a dog new tricks.” 

Those were your words, not mine, spoken to me about someone else. You speak in metaphors when you’re aggravated, you said. And you were aggravated. Yet you never understood my aggravation when I was put in the same situation by you. Your own words used against you. This feels like a gift to me. And words are always such a lovely gift.
